Spitalfields Market

Spitalfields is the largest wholesale fruit and vegetable market in London. Originally in the City, it relocated in the 1980 to Leyton in East London. Since then it has become significantly more diverse as traditional grocery stores have either been replaced by supermarkets or taken over by minority populations most notably Turkish. The market opens from midnight to around 8am but most of the action is over by six.
